The way ONLINE TV
The possibilities of what web TV can offer subscribers are endless. If a subscriber is running late, with a cell phone or PDA he can call his I.P TV and tell it to record the baseball game that he won't be home to see. If your are watching a cooking show, the viewer can dash off an email to the chef. Subscribers will be able to order the clothing that their favorite actors are wearing on TV, and all from the comfort of their living room sofa or recliner.
Web TV is currently in the testing phase in the United States. There are some kinks that need to be worked out as to how the delivery system works. To be a successful product, the broadband infrastructure must be in place to meet the demands of the subscriber. If a television show breaks up during transmission because the pipeline isn't large enough to accept all of the data that needs to get through, the subscribers are not going to keep paying for the service.
European telephone and internet companies are offering IPTV subscriptions now, and the subscriber rate is rising. It is estimates that there will be over 50,000,000 households subscribing to IPTV by the year 2010. Will you be one of them?

Download computer TV software:
The number of channels available will usually indicate whether a package is worth its value in money. Some of the most downloaded packages offer more than 2000 world TV channels online. Others even throw in over 1000 free satellite internet radio stations to listen to.
Programming with most of these computer TV download packages will include some of the most rare TV shows in addition to racing, games, live sports television, movies, classic old movies, scientific documentaries, wildlife channels among a wider selection.
You will need to compare costs of the different softwares on the internet. A vast majority of the good ones costs you around $40- $70 for a one time life membership.
The package cost should be such that it offers you only a one time payment for life with free upgrades every year.
You will want to avoid those packages that insist that you pay monthly fees. Internet service is absolutely free of charge and you should never ever pay for any subscriptions whatsoever.

PC to TV connection
It's actually really easy to connect a laptop to a TV as long as both the laptop and the tv have S-Video Ports.
S-Video is the most common method because an S-Video cable is pretty cheap and just about every TV has an S-Video port. But you will have to make sure your laptop is equipped with this port. You can buy S-Video cables at almost all electronic stores. There are two types of S-Video cables: 4-pin and 7-pin. Most laptops have a 7-pin port, so if your TV only has a 4-pin S-Video port, then this will not work. The S-Video cable will only move the picture to the TV, but not the sound, so you will need to get an audio cable and connect to the laptop headphone and to the TV audio-in. Also you will need to open the "display settings" on your computer and change the output to the TV screen. You can make the display screen on the computer on the TV also or you can extend the display just like a dual monitor screen (which is so great since I can watch movies that I downloaded online on my TV screen and still check my email and be online at the same time!!). After changing the display settings, you will need to change your TV from 'Video 1" to Video 2", and then you should be good to go.
Another note, I had problems getting my TV to recognize the external display because I realized that I had to make sure I connected the cable to the TV before turning on the computer, otherwise it failed.
$10.00 Rebate
Good luck all.

" From a first impression standpoint to regular daily use this is where the software really stood out – the look and feel of the site was simple but cool looking at the same time. You can browse channels in the normal way with a complete channel database listing. But you can also target specific countries and genres to quickly and easily narrow your choices down."

Brazilian judge rules TV "essential"
Brazilian judge rules TV "essential"
SAO PAULO (Reuters) – A Brazilian judge awarded $2,600 (1,824 pound) in damages to a man who sued a store for not replacing his faulty television set, ruling that it was an "essential good" needed to watch soccer and a popular reality TV show.
The customer took Casas Bahia, Brazil's largest furniture and home appliances retail chain, to court for "moral damages" inflicted by not being able to watch television.
"In modern life, you cannot deny that a television set, present in almost all homes, is considered an essential good," ruled the judge from Campos, a town north of Rio de Janeiro.
"Without it, how can the owner watch the beautiful women on 'Big Brother,' the national news broadcast or a football game," the judge quipped.
Brazilians are passionate soccer fans and are currently following the ninth season of the local version of the popular reality TV show "Big Brother."

I was ready to go back to regular television when I saw Satellite TV for PC 2009 Elite software. I was able to use it right after I placed it on my laptop. I was still skeptical and gave it a couple of months before I told my online friends about how great it was. The picture quality was superb and I was able to watch satellite TV while I was talking to international friends. I didn’t feel like I was paying too much to get the best quality.
Satellite TV For PC 2009 Elite Edition software only cost a one time $49.95 unlike some of my previous purchase which were monthly subscriptions and cost more in one month than Satellite TV For PC 2009 Elite Edition.
Some of the channels were in different languages so some of my international friends were able to watch on my laptop channels that were in their native language. That was definitely not a waste! Now, I really do have the world at my fingertips.
One advantage of using Satellite TV on PC software is that I can watch my favorite shows anywhere in the world since it only requires an internet connection. So if you are on vacation or on a business trip but don’t want to miss out on that TV program, you can check out Satellite TV For PC 2009 Elite Edition.

Satellite Television for PC has been around us for a reasonable period of time but still lots of people are un-acquainted by the remarkable facts of this wonderful software. PC Satellite Television software is another name for Satellite Television for PC and it can simply convert your Traditional PC into satellite Television system.
Initially when I came to know about the Satellite Television on PC, I was in a doubtful state. Nevertheless, I did a huge a research on the satellite television receivers, internet products for satellite television, digital satellite television and many other PC satellite television programs and then concluded that it is very genuine and dedicated software.
Even so I just didn't go and buy it. In fact, I discussed it with many different people and got a hold of those people who had been using this software for quite sometime. In due course, I realized that I had become a professional on satellite television or satellite television for PC.
Other advantages of the software are:
- There is no risk of Spy ware or Ad ware
- More than 3000 channels
- Charged once in lifetime, no monthly expenses!
- 100% lawful
- System doesn't fail at all and it is very easy to use the software
Hence, after all of my research I immediately bought this software and terminated the cable service and the traditional satellite system after that.

Ever had the experience when your favorite sports game is on TV, but you are unable to watch it for reasons such as: no satellite signal due to bad weather, you are traveling or working, or you might not even have access to satellite television at all? Well, than you must love the idea of being able to watch live sports on satellite TV for PC online. There are a few different ways to do this, and it's all a matter of personal preference. It's quite simple, because all you need is a personal computer, either a desktop or a laptop, and an Internet connection.
The direct streaming method is one option that allows you to watch sports games online instantly. Many satellite television providers offer this method, either for free or a low rate. However, you cannot guarantee good viewing quality, nor can you guarantee that you will even find the game that you are looking for. This method can be very time consuming. If you wish to spend a lot of money (roughly $600 - $700) and go through a messy installation procedure, than you could always invest in a PCTV card. Yet, this method does offer a variety of high quality channels.
Furthermore, many websites offer software that allows you to watch sports TV online either for a one-time fee or a pay-per-use fee. This software costs a lot less than paying a monthly fee, but is this software 100% reliable? Many of the software differ in how they operate, what channels they do and do not offer, and also the quality of the product. That is why it is crucial to do research to insure that you are getting exactly what you paid for.
With Internet satellite software, you are able to watch all of your favorite sports channels from nearly 80 countries PLUS many other television channels including the news, entertainment, kids channels, shopping, and even movies for a one-time low price. There are no contracts, no monthly bills, and no hidden costs. Your software will install and within minutes, enable you to watch satellite TV for PC.
For the average sports fan, installing the satellite software is probably the best option. It guarantees over 3000 channels, many of which are sports. You are getting what you wanted - sports TV - plus a lot more for a lot less. The only thing you might have to do is get a faster Internet connection (if you are using dial-up) and invest in an output cable (which are available for very cheap) which enables you to hook your laptop onto a big screen TV.

Watch satellite TV on PC, TV or cable TV? This is a question of choice but not on equal grounds since each have its strengths and weaknesses. According to a national wide survey, an average American probably spends more than 16% of his time in an entire year watching TV. This translates to about two months in a year which is more than half the time we spend on sleeping. Another staggering fact is more than two-thirds of American homes own more than three TV sets. TV is part of American culture. Discover what the differences are to help you decide whether to watch satellite TV on PC, TV or cable TV.
What are some of the differences? Should you watch satellite TV on PC, TV or cable TV?
1. Locality and Accessibility
Cable TV tends to be well-received in built-up areas since it is not affected by terrains and weather. However, in places where cable technology has not reached, such as rural areas or some suburban districts, satellite TV is their choice. In fact, you can set up a satellite dish system to watch satellite TV on your TV from any part of the world so it has a worldwide appeal. Where you can have internet access, you can watch satellite TV on PC readily.
2. TV Reception
You should not have any problem to watch satellite TV channels with clarity as long as your satellite dish system is set up for clear line of sight with the satellites. High rise buildings are ideal places for such systems as the satellite has full view of the skies. Needless to say, cable TV is able to receive and display TV channel feeds with a certain degree of clarity. However, since the reception of satellite dish system depends on external conditions such as weather, it may be less reliable during different seasons of the year. Fortunately, you can overcome this if you watch satellite TV on PC. Watching PC satellite TV is not constrained by weather or nature elements since they receive their feeds via internet connections which is a highly reliable media portal.
3. Variety of TV Programs
Satellite TV is a clear winner in this. Since it is made to receive free-to-air broadcasts, you can practically watch any channel as long as your satellite dish system can cover it. Nowadays, you can even watch satellite TV on PC if you prefer not to touch a satellite dish. Even though cable TV has been working hard to secure more channels for their subscribers, it is still pretty self-limiting in the number of TV channels it can offer. With satellite TV, you get to watch worldwide TV channels from any country and in any language.
4. TV System Installation
When you watch satellite TV, there are in fact three options. Either you build your own satellite dish system to receive free-to-air broadcasts or you can take advantage of free equipment installation provided when you subscribe for monthly satellite TV program packages with the service providers. The third option which is a new one is to watch satellite TV on PC using software application and internet connection. This is simply the easiest way to watch satellite TV.
5. Pricing
Satellite TV has an unfair advantage over cable TV in this aspect. Cable TV providers have to pay heavier levies charged by the state governments since the infrastructural makeup is more complicated and intensive than satellite TV providers which are light in infrastructure. Capital costs for cable TV companies are higher and with the advent of digital TV becoming the next big thing, it is a matter of time when they have to upgrade those million miles of ground-embedded obsolete cables. This is why satellite TV providers are able to charge less for more. In fact, if you watch satellite TV on PC, you can do away with monthly subscriptions and expensive Do-It-Yourself (DIY) style dish systems since you only pay once for the PC satellite TV software.
So I certainly hope this article can help you in making a choice between satellite or cable TV. Cut this out of The Huffington Post

But all of this is somewhat besides the point. The real sea change is that the web is - for the first time - a real alternative to cable and broadcast TV from a content perspective. With the migration of the prime-time schedule from local affiliates to services like Hulu, home viewers can watch 'The Office' via the net. ABC, powered by the crystal clear video of Move Networks, offers its prime-time schedule on its website as well. And the emergence of web-exclusive content from studios like Revision 3, and Mevio, and MyDamn Channel all provide viewers with new (and in many cases better) video choices as they look for content.
So - why now? 2009 is moment in time when consumers are restless. And with good reason. NBC is shifting from dramas at 10pm to Jay Leno behind a desk. HBO is hitless - 'The Soprano's' seem so very long ago. And while cable has a handful of hits (Mad Men, Damages) David Pogue in the New York Times points out, you can get the full seasons on Netflix as part of their $9 all you can eat download and DVD offering.
I've said for a long time, the biggest and most powerful untapped resource in the future of web entertainment is the huge expense most American families currently put toward the 'free' television they get. By that I mean the bundled set of offerings that are called cable tv. You pay for 1,000 channels, and watch maybe 10 of them. If you're getting broadband, cable, and some premium channels you're probably paying over $100 a month. That's $1,200 year. Now, if you canceled your cable - just kept broadband - that would drop your bill to $480 a year. Leaving $720 a year that could be parsed out to VOD, Netflix, iTunes, Amazon, or any of the other services that are sure to be better capable of working with you on a micropayment basis to sell you just what you want.
Well what came out of all this I'm getting better on the computer fast and I must be doing something right If those ^%$$ butt sniffers are that worried. I will take any advice and if they cross the street in front of me I think my foot slipped of the brakes.

We recently got DirecTV after seeing their ad blitz for 75 HD channels. They brag about their "digital picture and sound," and their great customer service.
The truth is the only way to get digital picture and sound is with a HDTV and an HDMI. Their picture is actually worse than the picture we got with Comcast. Not to mention there is no two year agreement with cable, no picture loss when it rains, you do not have to pay for "leased equipment, and you do not need an ugly dish hanging on your house.
When we purchased our most recent HDTV, we figured we would replace the DVR we had with DirecTV and get an HD DVR to replace it.
DirecTV told us we would have to pay $299 for the privlige of leasing their receiver from them. In addition to this we would have to pay $50 because we were a new customer "and had not established a credit history with them." Also, we would have to pay $20 for shipping and handling and extend our contract for another two years.
Maybe DirecTV thinks it is in the cellphone business because all they want to do is lock you into long-term contracts and make you bleed money to them forever. Their symbol should be a ball and chain because that is what they really are. Cable here I come! SAM from FL. USA
1080p resolution--which equates to 1,920x1,080 pixels--is the latest HD Holy Grail. That's because 1080p monitors are theoretically capable of displaying every pixel of the highest-resolution HD broadcasts. On paper, they should offer more than twice the resolution of today's 1,280x720, or 720p, HDTVs. Some companies, such as LG, refer to these super-high-res of sets as ultra-HD, while others prefer to substitute true or full for ultra.
2. Why 1080p is theoretically better than 1080i
1080i, the former king of the HDTV hill, actually boasts an identical 1,920x1,080 resolution but conveys the images in an interlaced format (the i in 1080i). In a tube-based television, otherwise known as a CRT, 1080i sources get "painted" on the screen sequentially: the odd-numbered lines of resolution appear on your screen first, followed by the even-numbered lines--all within 1/30 of a second. Progressive formats formats such as 480p, 720p, and 1080p convey all of the lines of resolution sequentially in a single pass, which makes for a smoother, cleaner image, especially with sports and other motion-intensive content. As opposed to tubes, (DLP, LCoS, and LCD rear-projection) and other TVs, including plasma and LCD flat-panel, are inherently progressive in nature, so when the incoming source is interlaced, as 1080i is, they convert it to progressive scan for display.
So I hope this helps someone. Just remember stay in your price range.
The Charlie Schulz Philosophy
(This is marvelous!! Scroll thru slowly and read carefully to receive and enjoy full effect.)
The following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the creator of the ‘Peanuts’ comic strip.
You don’t have to actually answer the questions….just ponder them.
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade’s worth of World Series winners.
How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember the ‘headliners’ of yesterday.
These are no second-rate achievers.
They are the best in their fields.
But, the applause dies..
Awards tarnish.
Achievements are forgotten.< /FONT>
Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.
Here’s another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special!!
5. Think o f five people you enjoy spending time with.
Easier?
The lesson:
The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials..the most money…or the most awards.
They simply are the ones who care the most.
Pass this on to those people w ho have made a difference in your life, like I did.
